In the last 4 years, since IPS-IV held in Najing-China, a wealth of information has been gathered on the links among physiology, molecular genetics and genomics to understand and improve adaptation and yield of Populus across Europe as a bioenergy and timber crop. Moreover, new insights were developed on the genetic and ecological potentials of poplar and willow trees, as well as on the global change impacts on ecosystems and their mitigating role. Scientists involved in all aspects of biology, ecology and cultivation of Salicacae are invited to present their latest scientific information and to submit an abstract of their proposed presentation, according to the main theme and the topics selected for this Symposium.
Authors can submit abstracts (short descriptions of the proposed presentation) and additional material (optional: e.g., PowerPoint slides, etc.) for the scheduled conference. The submissions can be for a single presentation (with one or more authors) and/or for a multiple presentation session, submitted by the session organizer.

All those desiring consideration of their work for publication in refereed journal to be announced later should deliver their manuscript to the conference secretariat (lucia.cherubini@ibaf.cnr.it) no later than 20 September, 2010.
